City Beautiful Chandigarh is reeling under the serious pressure of swine flu; latest in the move was seventeen members of a family who were being quarantined in their Sector 9 home by heath department on Monday. According to H C Gera, Nodal Officer of Chandigarh Administration, the respective family members have been for a week in their house for the examination of swine flu symptoms. |

On account of the Lok Sabha election, the Chandigarh Administration has declared a public holiday on May 13 in all offices/ boards/corporations/institutions under the Negotiable Instruments Act, 1881. The holiday will be a paid holiday in industrial shops, commercial establishments and for daily wage earners.

To improve tourism infrastructure at Sukhna Lake, the government has sanctioned Rs.27.3 millions for setting up fountains, a tourism information centre and for landscaping.
