On account of the Lok Sabha election, the Chandigarh Administration has declared a public holiday on May 13 in all offices/ boards/corporations/institutions under the Negotiable Instruments Act, 1881. The holiday will be a paid holiday in industrial shops, commercial establishments and for daily wage earners.

The central parliamentary board of the Janata Party has decided to extend support to Satya Pal Jain, BJP candidate. This was stated at a joint press conference by Jain and Ajay Jagga, president of the local unit of the Janata Party.
