The first mayor of the Mohali Municipal Corporation (MMC), Kulwant Singh, in his first move on Thursday after joining office, has issued notices to various owners of commercial properties to remove encroachments from shops. For the purpose, he has launched a special drive against encroachments in various parts of the city, by sending notices to the establishments concerned. The Mohali MC had previously collected more than Rs2.50 lakh from fines under the special drive.
