active 9 months, 4 weeks agoOsborne recently announced on LinkedIn that he was leaving Jagex after fifteen years of content editing as well as narrative design and lead design OSRS Gold. The decision was made in order to “test [his] experience across the market.” Osborne is leaving Jagex and will be joining Square Enix on the publishing part, as a Senior Designer. He’ll be overseeing “some fantastic games,” beginning with Outriders.
The news prompted Redditor FatNWackyRS to reach out to members of r/Outriders with an easy message on Mod Osborne who he described as the “warm warm, welcoming “Dad” face at Jagex.” FatNWackyRS describes everything that Osborne has done for the community over the years, with a focus on videos, including playing the role of Mod Elfborne, promoting Prifddinas (an Elf City in Runescape) as well as joining livestreams and supporting the company’s vision.
Many gamers or communities would be upset about the loss of a well-known brand, FatNWackyRS invited other Runescape players to post their stories. One commenter, notably, declares that they’ve had to win and lose because they play the game of Runescape along with Outriders. Some were thrilled by this news, including those who have never had a conversation with Osborne before, thanks to this glowing review from one of the Runescape community.
What exactly will transpire on the other side of the Outriders fence is yet to be seen, however the fans are aware of a number of exciting things are coming in the coming years to this game. Outriders’ Worldslayer expansion is set to be revealed sometime this spring . It’s scheduled to launch in the coming year and, beyond that, People Can Fly has a variety of other projects underway, including a new game with Square Enix. It is unclear if Osborne is involved in that, however, remains to be confirmed.
FatNWackyRS end his post by leaving an unassuming, heartfelt note for Osborne, should he happen to read it Thank you for everything you have done for Runescape and warm wishes for his time with Square Enix. “We appreciate you and will be missing you osrs buy items, and we send you the very best of luck in your exciting new projects from Square Enix,” the Redditor wrote on behalf of the RS community.
