    Follow these steps to reset the MAC printing system for brother printer:-

    Click on the Apple => System Preferences => Print & Scan (or Printers & Scanners).
    Hold down the Control key and click on the machine.
    Select Reset Printing System.

    You can update or re-install the printer driver. According to many Brother Printer users, the Error State is often caused by the corrupting of the printer drivers.
