On the occasion of National Science Day, it was a lesson in scientific awareness for students and visitors at the Survey of India, Sector 32, in the city on Friday. The theme of the event was ‘Expanding horizons of science’, which is part of the guidelines issued by ministry of science and technology to promote science as a field of study.
The celebrations were opened by Maj Gen PN Kaul, additional surveyor general, North Western Zone, Survey of India. The day-long event saw a range of activities like video shows and display of maps and instruments to showcase different techniques related to science.
