Children’s Theatre Festival 2016 Started At Tagore Theatre

The Chandigarh Sangeet Natak Akademi organised a two-day Children’s Theatre Festival of 2016 at Tagore Theatre yesterday. This Children’s Theatre Festival begin with a hilarious comedy play named as Rabba Rabba Meenh Barsa. This play was staged by Natyam Theatre Group.

Around 16 artistes played roles in this play they all are aged from 11 to 14 years. In this play they brought alive the flavor of the rural Punjab with a special effect to rain flourished and they shows that while devastating rain and floods may destabilize the humanity. And the moderate rain is a blessing.This play was written by Prince Kanwaljit and directed by the Keerti Kirpal.

Other artists who were playing the role of villagers and students perform a yajna for invoking the rain god who will save the people from famine. An insane persons is shown perturbed as his whole family is washed away in floods as well as another adolescent a poor student worried because of torrential rain may render his father who is a jobless person .

Kamal Arora Akademi chairman said that this event is organised so that the city students will know about the rural culture. Also two other shows will be staged at 11.00 am and 6.00 pm for school children.
