Jeanneret’s House Open On March 22, Sector 5 Soon To Be Museum

Chandigarh’s first chief architect house in sector- 5 which is converted into museum will be open to public from march 22. The museum display the work of Swiss-born architect Pierre Jeanneret to made city beautiful from 1954 to 1965 arena.

Some sources reveled that UT Administrator V P Singh Badnore will inaugurate the museum. As per officials initially there will be fees imposed to watch museum, However, administration can impose charge later after few months.

The house converted into museum is designed by Jeanneret himself. In addition to this he also designed layout of Panjab University building along with Gandhi Bhawan. Sector-22 government primary school is also part of his design. The furniture designed by him will also put on display.

Considering this project, the UT administration is trying to attract more foreign tourists to the city.
