Admn starts cleanliness drive near Mohali airport

In view of the starting of international flights from the Mohali airport from September 11, the administration started a special cleanliness drive in the surroundings of the airport here today. A special team consisting of Mohali SDM Lakhmir Singh and officials of the GMADA visited Jagatpura village located near the airport and confiscated meat products and other material from at least 10 shops. “These shopkeepers use to throw the leftovers of the animals in the open drain passing nearby. These remains attract birds in a large number, which pose a danger to planes while taking off and landing at the airport,” said SDM Lakhmir Singh.
