First House meet to be held this week

The working of recently launched Rs 13.50-crore project of mechanised sweeping would be reviewed soon. This was stated by Mohali’s first Mayor Kulwant Singh immediately after taking charge of his office at the MC Bhawan in Sector 68 here this morning.The project was launched with much fanfare by Punjab Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Badal on August 6.Kulwant Singh said despite spending so much, Rs 3.37 lakh daily, the cleanliness in the town was not satisfactory. “I am aware that still, complaints of poor sanitation are being received on a regular basis. So, there is a need to review the entire system,” the Mayor said, adding that the issue would be discussed in the very first meeting of the MC House to be held within a week.
