Panjab University Now Become A Green Campus

The Panjab University authorities have decided a proposal to build a green building whose proposal is submitted to the University Grant Commission (UGC). Under the green campus proposal, the administration will demand the release of Rs 40 crore for installing solar panels on 35 prominent buildings to generate 5-MW electricity on the campus, that become the first and foremost conditions for the green campus. According to the report the buildings that covered in this project are all seven art blocks, seven boys’ hostels, seven science departments, two blocks of UIET, construction office, administrative office, Aruna Chandra Hall, one girls’ hostel and a dental college. In their report, the team estimated that after the installation of solar panels on 16 buildings, the estimated power generation will be of more than 100 KW.
