Punjab Govt wants peaceful Mohali mayoral poll

The Punjab Government will ensure peaceful mayoral poll in Mohali on August 28. Senior SAD leader and Anandpur Sahib MP Prof Prem Singh Chandumajra said disruption would not be allowed during the poll. “The state government is not worried about the mayoral post. Our prime concern is to maintain the law and order in the district,” said Chandumajra.He admitted that the incident of violence during the poll on August 18 had brought a bad name to the party.“The state government has already directed the Mohali SSP to identify the persons, who disrupted the mayoral poll on August 18, and take stern action against them,” said Chandumajra.
