Yoga : The Art of Calming the Mind

Yoga, a physical, mental and spiritual practice having its origin in India, aims to transform both body and mind. Our busy schedules and hectic lifestyles often leave us stressed and tired. Yoga enhances our physical and mental capacity, and prepares the mind and body for long term health. One is truly healthy when one is physically, mentally and emotionally balanced and yoga helps in reaching that state. A few minutes of yoga during the day can be a great way to get rid of stress that accumulates daily - in both the body and mind. Yoga postures, pranayama and meditation are effective techniques to release stress. Yoga also helps detox the body and de-stress the mind. On 11 December 2014, the United Nations General Assembly declared 21 June as the International Day of Yoga after the Indian Prime Minister during his address to UN General Assembly called for adoption of International Day of Yoga. To commemorate the International Day of Yoga, Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) Chandigarh Council is organsing a Session on Yoga : The Art of Calming the Mind from 0815 – 0945 hrs on Sunday, 21 June 2015 at CII Northern Region Headquarters, Sector 31 – A, Chandigarh. Other Key Government Officials from Chandigarh & Punjab would also be joining. In this context, I am writing to cordially invite you to join us at the Session on ‘Yoga : The Art of Calming the Mind’.
