Ongoing one month Free Self-Defence Training Camps organized by Sports Wing of AIATF, Chd in various parts of city will be concluded on 2nd July 2006 at Skating Rink Sector 10, Chandigarh. AIATF is actively involved in organizing Free Self-Defense training camps at various places in the city for the past 4 years.

Motive of the camps is to generate self-defense and self-confidence in the citizen of India and to channelize the youth’s energy into right direction so that our Nation becomes stronger. India is facing many evils like proxy war, drug abuse, increase in crime rate and mistreat with women. In daily life there are cases of chain snatching, robbery, eve-teasing, molestation, rapes and murders. Self-defense training enhances self-confidence, mind power, fitness and the capacity to handle unsafe situations.

These camps are held under the guidance of Col KD Pathak (Retd.); Advisor of Sports Wing of Chandigarh State, which consists of aerobics, stretching exercises, self-defence techniques using Karate, Taek-won-do and Hapkido and Self-Defense Tips. Written material on self-defense tips is also circulated to the people.

This year, Self Defense Training Camps were held since 1st June 2006 at parks of Sector 20-A, 23, 28-D, 38, 38 West, 40 A, 44, 48, and Sector 51 with a team of expert instructors namely Mr. Sunil Dutt, Mr. Raj Kumar, Mr Mohit Verma, Mr Vijender S Rawat, Mr Vishal, Ms Sangeeta, Ms Sandeep Kaur, Ms Monica Thakur, Ms Anita and Mrs. Aman Dutt and over 600 participants of all age groups attended the camps.

We are organising the Concluding Ceremony of these training camps on 2nd July 2005 at Skating Rink, Sector 10, Chandigarh from 1600 hrs to 1800 hrs where all the participants from above training centers will show their prowess in Self-Defence skills.
