WORKSHOP ON TOTAL COST MANAGEMENT ON FRIDAY, 10 JULY 2015,CII-NR HEADQUARTERS,CHANDIGARH

Increase in global competition has resulted in Cost Management becoming a mantra in many Indian Companies. In order to offer the final customer a value-based product at a lesser cost, and thereby gain competitive advantage, it is essential that cost management addresses not just individual activities or cost centres but the entire value chain.

The Indian Industry has grown from a simplistic cost-plus pricing structure has been used to for decades, to a liberalized and open economy, where the market determines prices, CII believes that effective cost management is one of the most vital devices to help the Indian Industry get acclimatized to these fast paced changes.

Against this backdrop, CII is organizing a Workshop on “TOTAL COST MANAGEMENT” on Friday, 10th July, 2015 at CII NR Headquarters, Chandigarh.
Objectives:

To develop knowledge on the techniques for effective cost management and increased profitability
To create in-house skills on Total Cost Management tools like Activity Based Costing (ABC), Activity Based Management (ABM), Target Costing (TC), Balanced Score Card etc.
To help provide a holistic framework to control, reduce and eliminate costs.

Faculty:

Mr M Nagesh Babu is management accountant by profession and has been passionately driving the modern tools of cost management in the industry since 21 years. Hitherto, he has been the team leader and driving force in a leading confectionery manufacturer in India to conceptualize and establish costing department and steer it for 15 long years. Close to 9 years at CII, he is striving to take cost management to greater heights in the industry through research and application. He has been part of core group of TCM (Total Cost Management) which formulated and executed CII TCM Maturity model in the industry which calibrates the cost management from base to highest through 5 layers with differentiating characteristic features at each level.
