Amazon and Smilegate would “consider” Lost Ark console port
Amazon Games and Smilegate would “consider” an Xbox version of Lost Ark, if fans were interested in it.
Talking to VG247, Amazon Games’ franchise director Soomin Park was asked about whether the game would be available on Xbox and PlayStation particularly following the huge success of the main competitor Diablo 3.
“If Lost Ark on consoles is something that people really want, then I think it’s something both parties would take into consideration,” he said.
When it comes to Diablo, Park did allude to the rivalry between Blizzard’s long-running series. “We certainly believe there’s an opportunity to allow Lost Ark to establish itself as a major player, according to the success that the game has had thus far,” he said.
Park is also asked what the reason was in order for Lost Ark to transition from Asian success to a global smash.
“The need was there, Smilegate has invested years in refining and polishing the core game, and we worked together to adapt it to a brand new public, with millions gamers now experiencing the game for the first time,” he said.
There’s also a connection with South Korean culture, following the international success of Kpop artists and TV shows like the Netflix show Squid Game.
“I think there’s an evolving trend of globalisation of content in all forms of entertainment as well as a growing interest in international experiences that let us be exposed to cultures from all over world,” he said.
“Korean pop culture like TV and music is increasing in popularity in the West cheapest Lost Ark Gold. Games are a natural evolution of this trend.”
