Preparations are in full swing for the visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to the international airport on September 11. Saplings are being planted along the 15-km newly recarpeted road connecting the city to the new terminal. The Greater Mohali Area Development Authority (Gmada) is planting 35 different varieties of trees along the entire route the PM is expected to take from Chandigarh. Even cranes were used to bring palm trees to the spot. Trees measuring 10-12 feet were also being planted to ensure there was enough greenery to welcome Modi. Electricity were being repaired while new ones were also installed.
