Though the vigilance officer of Chandigarh Municipal Corporation Sarita Malik was transferred before she could submit the report of inquiry conducted into the wrongs in the operation and maintenance of the sewerage treatment plant at Diggian, SAS Nagar, the officer had detected large-scale irregularities, HT has found.Investigations carried out by HT found that officials floated tenders for the STP’s maintenance in violation of the conditions laid down in the detailed notice inviting tenders (DNIT), thus causing a loss of nearly Rs 3 crore in the past five years.

I read about this tender and realized it was unprofitable due to poor maintenance of the treatment plant…
I’m currently in King County, and I’m experiencing my own utility disaster, but on a local scale. My septic tank has decided that now is the perfect time to start acting up. The system is simply failing, and it looks like either a complete drainfield replacement or some very expensive repairs are looming.
So, if anyone in King County has reliable contacts for repairmen who really understand filtration systems, please let me know.
