    Around 10 months after the UT police arrested Jasbir Singh, a resident of Tarn Taran in Punjab, for his involvement in the Sector 34 bomb blast case that rocked the city in 1999, the co-accused died at the PGI yesterday owing to prolonged illness.Jasbir Singh (72) was arrested along with the main accused, Rattandeep Singh, by the operations cell of the UT police in November last year. He was in judicial custody and was admitted to the PGI since April this year.Jasbir Singh was a heart patient and had also applied for bail on account of his illness, which was rejected by the court earlier this year.Jasbir was to undergo an open heart surgery next week at the PGI. He died last evening.
