    Logistics management is an important component of supply chain management (SCM). While the terms are sometimes used interchangeably, warehousing and logistics focus on moving products and materials as efficiently as possible. In contrast, SCM encompasses a much broader range of supply chain planning (SCP) activities, such as demand planning and sales and operations planning (S&OP), and supply chain execution (SCE), including strategic sourcing and transportation management.
