I’m a big fan of hiking boots. I think they’re just more comfortable, look better, and last longer than trail runners. I’ve hiked in both types of footwear, and I like the feel of a boot on my feet better.

There are several different kinds of hiking boots on the market these days. Some are made from leather and others out of synthetic materials like Gore-Tex or eVent. The latter materials will dry faster than leather boots when they get wet, but they also tend to be heavier than leather ones.

Likewise, there are several different styles of hiking boots available in the market these days: traditional lace-up designs with laces that tie around the ankle or hook over it; lace-up designs with Velcro closures at the top; slip-on designs that come off with one quick motion; and even waterproof versions for those who plan to wear them in rainy weather.

I personally prefer lace-up styles because they give me more freedom of movement when I’m walking or running on uneven terrain outdoors because they don’t have buckles or Velcro closures that can snag on branches or rocks while you’re moving through the woods at high speed (or falling down).
