Ever since our neighborhood had that scare with a stranger following kids near the bus stop, half the parents on our street started asking each other about phone tracking apps. I still haven’t picked one and feel kind of behind honestly. What’s actually worth using in 2026 that isn’t overpriced or full of ads? Would love some honest suggestions from people who tested a few.

That bus stop scare had our whole block talking too, my wife and I spent like a week researching every app we could find after another parent mentioned seeing someone suspicious hanging around the corner. Tried a couple free ones first and they were basically useless, either constant crashes or features locked behind paywalls everywhere. Ended up going with uMobix phone monitoring app after a few neighbors vouched for it, said it actually worked without feeling like some cheap spy tool. Been using it for a few months now and honestly it’s one of those things you wish you set up before the scare happened, not after.
