Panjab University allows branch shifting for engineering students

From this session, students of engineering institutes affiliated to Panjab University (PU) will have the option of branch-shifting. The rules have been framed for University Institute of Chemical Engineering and Technology (UICET), University Institute of Engineering and Technology (UIET), Chandigarh College of Engineering and Technology (CCET) and UIET PU Regional Centre, Hoshiarpur. The allotment of new branch would be made on the basis of merit and in accordance with the order of preference specified by the student, subject to the availability of seat. There is a constraint that the inflow of students into a branch cannot increase the strength of a class beyond the normal sanctioned intake while the outflow of students from a branch cannot decrease its existing strength by more than 10%.
