No rehri will be allowed to ply on main roads or on road berms in the city. The Municipal Corporation has started issuing notices to the offenders directing them to clear the area within 10 days, said Deputy Mayor Manjit Singh Sethi today.Sethi said by definition a rehri should be moving about and not be stationed at one place, especially on main roads or road berms. When stationed on road berms, these became structures, which was a violation of the rules.Sethi said he was not against the needy earning their livelihood through rehris but those plying should be following some system.“Rehris on main roads are a traffic hazard, which at times lead to accidents. The civic body will take tough measures and not a single rehri will be allowed on the main roads,” said the Deputy Mayor.
