Veterans to begin relay hunger fast in Mohali

Peeved at non-implementation of the promised One Rank, One Pension (OROP) formula for the armed forces, a section of ex-servicemen would start a relay hunger strike in Mohali this week.Ex-servicemen from Mohali and neighbouring areas would be participating in the protest, which would be on the lines as the ongoing hunger strike being held by veterans at Jantar Mantar in the national capital.Ex-servicemen are demanding immediate implementation of the OROP, which has been repeatedly promised by the government in its election manifesto, on the floor of the Parliament and at various pubic forums.
