The city beautiful administration sought for supplementary fund for various development projects in Chandigarh. In a recent parliamentary committee meeting in Delhi UT Adviser Parimal Rai and MP Kirron Kher desire to obtain additional funds for the development of infrastructure in health, education and other departments.
It is noticed with respect to administration demands the allocation ratio of fund is relatively very low, for health the demand raised is of Rs 240 crore, but the funds allocated are just Rs 52.35 crore similarly for education head receives only Rs 70.24 crore against the demand of Rs 260 crore. For the smart city project the administration receives Rs 100 crore against a demand of Rs 200 crore.
The UT officials mentioned that they are continuously working to get additional water from Kajauli waterworks. The BJP government allocated Rs 4,312.40 crore for Chandigarh, out of which Rs 3,837.40 crores allocation for revenue and rest Rs 475 crore comes under capital head as this year’s budget focus more on rural and urban development.
