The Union Health Ministry has approved 50-bedded Ayush (Ayurveda, Yoga and Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha and Homoetherapy) in the city.

All the Ayush hospitals in Tricity will be upgraded within this financial year. The plan that was drafted by Chandigarh Administration approved by The Union Health Ministry in Secretary-level meeting held at New Delhi.

The UT Health Director and local National Ayush Mission (NAM) director VK Ganeja and the NAM nodal officer, Dr Rajiv Kapila, were attend the meeting. The sum of money that will be invested in this project is approx 8crores. The land is available for the hospital is amount of rupees 2crore will be spent, while the rest amount is available to Chandigarh administration.

The Ayush centers of Sarangpur and Faidan villages also used by school teachers, Aganwadi workers and ANM’s will be trained people in yoga and naturopathy. The dispensary of Sector-37 and Sector-27 used to do Yoga and Naturopathy.

39 different schools will be use for conducting yoga and dietary programme.
