The Medical services were affected in PGI on Monday when resident doctors went on strike for the demanding better facilities as well as more security for them in the campus.
The strike began by the junior doctors of PGIMER was angry with an incident on Sunday in which relative of a patient slapped a doctor in the Emergency ward for late attending his mother when she was critical.
Various Medical services in (OPD) were affected because of strike on the first day of the week. Various Patients in the OPD had to suffer too much for medical services.
This strike of junior doctors blamed higher authorities of PGIMER for not taking action and not putting a system to reduce the burden off the junior doctors at unpleasant situations with patients and attending during heavy rush.
They said we are doing our duty with full strength and sincerity. However, the rush is too much for many times. Though there are many other govt hospitals are available in the city, but mostly patients prefer only PGI for their services. This will puts extra burden on the junior doctors, especially in the emergency.
Patients said for attendants they need to talk with the authorities and doctors they don’t resolve their issues to end the strike.
