It is obligatory for women to wear a helmet while riding two-wheelers from now on stated UT administration. The shopkeepers who usually did not sell more than 5 helmets a day are having a huge rush at their doors.
The sale of the helmets have risen up by 50% in the last two days said one of the owners of the scooter center, sector-21, Ajay Kumar. A person named Arun Mahajan said he sold up to 100 helmets a day now and the people buying are mostly ladies.
The increasing sale not only profit shopkeepers only but the roadside vendors also. One of these vendors, Ravi told he sold around 30 helmets in 48 hours.
