At Tagore Theatre yesterday Brihaspati Sangeet Sammelan of three days opened with the kathak recital which was organised by the Sangeet Natak Academy of the Chandigarh with the alliance Brihaspati Kala Kendra and Research Institute . It is the 11th Sangeet Sammelan . The kathak recital was done by Dr Samira Koser who is the doyenne of the Jaipur gharana.
Kamal Arora who is the Chairman of the CSNA was the chief guest of this event. This event was inaugurated by the Shobha Koser who is a kathak teacher and Prof Saubhagya Vardhan director of festival. Krishna stuti was presented by Samira Koser
she also performed Gat, nikas thaat, aamad, uthaan, paran, chakradar paran, upaj and pramila in an very excellent manner . She presented very highly educative concert as she describes the theme , significance and mainly the technical aspects of her compositions.
She was complemented by the audience at the execution of every syllable-chhand or tihai with the incessant clapping. She explained that classical dance is a complete art by performing ballet Yashodhara alone She played different characters and she brings alive the the spiritual journey of prince Siddhartha and his evolution into Gautama Buddha. And Dr Shlini Dev one of the best Classical vocalist will perform today at Tagore Theatre .
