At the gathering of officials, mayors, senior deputy mayors and deputy mayors of all three municipal corporations, it was assured that a joint coordination team would be established to handle this stray dog risk.
Today, Chandigarh Mayor Asha Jaswal had called a gathering at the MC office in Sector 17, Chandigarh to talk about the stray dog management and the rabies control in the tricity.
This meeting was attended by the mayors of Panchkula “Upinder Kaur Walia” and Mohali along with the sarpanches of chandigarh city.
Also, Panchkula Senior Deputy Mayor SS Nanda, Mohali Deputy Mayor Manjit Singh, Mohali MC Commissioner Rajesh Dhiman, Chandigarh MC Commissioner B Purushartha and other officials are present in this meeting.
At this gathering, it was decided to build a coordination council of the tri city civic bodies having all officers worried to hold a monthly meeting concerning stray dog management and rabies control.
At these gatherings, data/details about how much the number of stray dogs vaccinated, sterilised and treated throughout the month will be allocated to each other.
The only purpose of these meetings are to find the exact number of extending populace of dogs and sterilisation can be recorded.
